I know I am definitely putting the cart before the horse, but I just love this idea for a first birthday theme. I came across this theme on http://www.hostesswiththemostess.com/ its a Candy Land theme. Decorations: Brightly colored plates and napkins with Chinese lanterns wrapped in cellophane to look like candy. The favors could be a candy buffet (perfect since I have all the containers from my wedding). Here are some pictures from the website...
